As a rule, I generally do not submit recommendations for the vendors I work with. This is because I perform extensive research before engaging with a vendor and, as such, have high expectations for the engagement. The vendor would have to blow my socks off to merit a recommendation. Alan and Nancy Chan at Synergi Properties warrant such a recommendation.
After 7 years my wife and I decided to replace our primary residence in Orinda with one in Lafayette. We wanted a backyard and a single story with a nice, manageable garden. To be clear, my wife and I have sold multiple homes over the years, but this was different.
When we met Alan and Nancy, they immediately felt like part of our family – guiding us through the process of preparing our family and our home for the challenges that lay ahead.
They did it all – not only the stuff I expected like helping us decide on a reasonable price for the home we were selling, but also the things I did not expect like performing the staging of the property themselves rather than contracting with a 3rd party. They rolled in one Saturday morning, and, by the end of the day, we had a showcase home that was more than ready to impress the market.
We had a great offer by the end of our Open House, and Alan worked hard to negotiate with the prospective buyers to maximize that offer. Now the clock was running, and Alan and Nancy had to balance their time between completing the sales process on the Orinda home and finding a new home. If not, we would be homeless in 30 days!
In retrospect, they must have cloned themselves because they were always there when we needed them. They helped us find several prospective lenders to secure funding – which ensured our offers were as attractive as possible. They also negotiated for some extra time in the old house, helped us find a mover, took us on many, many tours of homes that met our criteria, all while completing the sales process on the Orinda home.
It felt like each visit to a potential new home was zeroing in on the perfect home for us – all the while keeping us calm and reassuring us that everything would be alright. Finally, we found what we were looking for and Alan and Nancy switched into overdrive!
Alan and Nancy negotiated with the Seller and, before we knew it, our offer was accepted! They worked with the Seller and an extensive list of vendors they had built up over the years to make sure a 60-year-old house was in its best condition before we even moved in.
To make a very long story short, we are in the new house and Alan and Nancy are still with us – helping with a myriad of things that clearly are outside the scope of what I had expected.

Alan and Nancy Chan of Synergi Properties are the ultimate dynamic duo and working with them was incredibly pleasant and seamless. Alan and Nancy were referred to me by friends and I couldn’t be more pleased with them as agents and look forward to working with them again. They definitely complement each other in all things real estate and were the most responsive, organized and efficient agents I have ever worked with.
They showed up to my house to do initial walkthrough before listing and ended up rolling up their sleeves and helped me hang pictures and move furniture and do final staging so we could quickly list and sell.
